Today is another historical day. What makes this "Douche Of The Week" award special is that the winner is a whole country, in this case, The People's Republic Of China. This is not to be confused with the good China, like Taiwan.

U.S.-France relations on an upswing

WASHINGTON - French President Nicolas Sarkozy opened a new, cozier chapter in U.S.-French relations, saying he came to Washington with a simple message: "I wish to reconquer the heart of America in a lasting fashion."

Yet Sarkozy, whose trip included a scheduled address to Congress on Wednesday, didn't sidestep the fact that President Bush and the war in Iraq remain unpopular in his country.

"I also came to say that one can be a friend of America, and yet win elections in France," Sarkozy joked during his toast at a White House dinner where the two leaders dined on lobster bisque and lamb.

That's not something Bush would have heard from former French President Jacques Chirac who publicly clashed with Bush, especially over the war.

Sarkozy's address to a joint meeting of Congress will highlight the improved relations. In 1996, many U.S. lawmakers boycotted a similar appearance by Chirac to protest France's nuclear testing in the South Pacific.

Sarkozy will reflect broadly on his vision for French-American relations but will not make great policy announcements, according to the French Embassy.

Iran and the Middle East peace efforts were likely to dominate Sarkozy's discussions with Bush as the two countries look to build on their warmer relations and improve policy coordination.

In his toast Tuesday night, Bush didn't mention France's opposition to the war. Instead, he spoke of working with France to help others around the world resist tyranny and oppression.

"French and American troops are helping defend a young democracy in Afghanistan," said Bush, who was taking Sarkozy at midday Wednesday to Mount Vernon, which was the Virginia home of George Washington.



"Our two nations support the democratic government in Lebanon. We agree that reconciliation and democracy in Iraq are vital to the future of the Middle East. And our two nations condemn violations of human rights in Darfur, in Burma and around the world," Bush said.

Sarkozy — known in France as "Sarko the American" — described the U.S.-French relationship as "simple," yet "always beautiful." In his remarks in the State Dining Room, he spoke with passion about freedom and liberty and the need for U.S.-French cooperation in addressing terrorism, nuclear proliferation, poverty and religious fanaticism.

"I've come to Washington to bear a very simple, straightforward message. ... I wish to re-conquer the heart of America. I want to re-conquer the heart of America in a lasting fashion," he said.

The French president also paid tribute to American veterans who fought in World War II and ended by proclaiming "Long live Franco-American friendship."

Sarkozy, who was seated next to first lady Laura Bush, came to the White House alone. He and his wife, Cecilia, announced their divorce on Oct. 18, a first for a French head of state.

The U.S. and France back tough diplomacy to keep Iran from having nuclear weapons. They have jointly sponsored U.N. resolutions supporting Lebanese sovereignty. And while France fiercely opposed the war in Iraq, Sarkozy sent his foreign minister on a surprise three-day trek to Baghdad in August to enhance France's role in Iraq's future.

"I never quite understood why we had to fight with the United States," Sarkozy said earlier in the day at a meeting of the French-American Business Council.

Sarkozy, an energetic 52-year-old conservative, has wasted no time in his bid to modernize France, in part by trying to inject an American-style work ethic. As a sign of his pro-American tendencies, he took a summer vacation in the United States, causing a stir back home.

In August, he visited Lake Winnipesaukee in Wolfeboro, N.H., about 50 miles from the Bush compound known as Walker's Point. Sarkozy stopped by the Bush family compound, which juts out into the Atlantic Ocean, and the two leaders took a speed boat ride and had an American-style picnic of hot dogs, hamburgers and baked beans.

Ok, this is not the first time they screwed us, and wanted to be friends later. This is the same country that held joint military excercises with China against a hypothetical US foe. The question is:"What do they want?"


Great Moments In French History

Fun Monday 11.06.07

It has been awhile since I participated in a Fun Monday, so I decided to go with this one, which is being hosted by Deborah who is not to be confused with Debs.

I want to hear about or see a holiday tradition, recipe or event. It can be any holiday you like or that is special to your family. With Thanksgiving and the Winter holidays coming up, those would be especially apt, but anything that is special for your family is fine. If you have pictures - it's a bonus! Whether it's your Mom's famous stuffing recipe, going caroling on Christmas Eve, Diwali dances, or even the inevitability of Great Aunt Polly having one too many brandies and knocking over the Christmas tree - I want to hear about it!!!

Since the blog world is so global this might be a learning experience too - exposing us to other cultures and traditions - something I always welcome!

Since Debs is posting basically how we spend our holiday, I am going to post about how I spent the holidays with my parents.

First the Menu. It is my father, not my mother, who is the cook of the house. Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner were the same mix of both traditional American, and some Asian elements.

>Roast Turkey with stuffing AND, not or;

>Glazed Ham with pineapple;

>yams;

>cranberry sauce;

>home made egg rolls. I know they are home made because as a child, I had to help roll them up. Usually a mixture of ground beef, and peas;

>Pancit Canton. This was basically a noodle dish with pork, shrimp, and chicken;

>Singapore Mai Fun, which is a spicy Rice Stick dish;

>Jumbo Shrimp Tempura, or Fried Battered Shrimp;

>Fried Rice with egg, pork, shrimp, bean sprouts, you name it.

Needless to say, we got full, and leftovers were plentiful. Grace was said at both meals. Even the pets got their fill. Wine was the drink of choice, any wine.

On Thanksgiving, the only other activity consisted of watching (or in my high school days, playing) football.

On Christmas, the day started out with Midnight Mass, some sleep, and the gift phase, followed by a big breakfast, and then the feast described above.

Special note on the gift phase:

My birthday is VERY close to Christmas. With this fact in mind, a family holiday tradition was called "Let's Screw Over Robocop and combine gifts and cards." This was not really the intention, but it was funny to call it that. Either Christmas, or Birthday Cards were modified neatly to include the other event. Birthday and Christmas gift wrap was interchanged. Not a problem now, but as a child, it was alittle frustrating**LOL**

Well, that's it. I hope someday to travel back home, and do this again with my parent, if I could only get those holidays off. I am not one of the Warden's pets, so I cannot see this happening in the near future.

Iranian Protesters Celebrate 28th Anniversary Takeover of U.S. Embassy

TEHRAN, Iran —

Thousands of Iranians nationwide demonstrated Sunday to celebrate the 28th anniversary of the takeover of the U.S. Embassy by militant students, state television reported.

Demonstrators in the capital, Tehran, including elementary school students, gathered outside the former U.S. Embassy, chanting anti-U.S. and anti-Israeli slogans. They burned the two countries' flags and warned Washington to learn from the hostile incident.

The takeover, which occurred during Iran's 1979 Islamic revolution, severely damaged relations between the two countries. The 52 Americans who were held hostage during the crisis were returned after 444 days, but the U.S. cut off diplomatic ties with Iran to protest the incident.

State television showed video footage of the takeover Sunday and images of the Americans who had been held hostage.

Current relations between the two countries continue to be incredibly tense, with the U.S. accusing Iran of covertly developing nuclear weapons and supporting Shiite militias in Iraq — charges Tehran denies.

"The U.S. has designed a triangle of military, cultural and economic threats against the Iranian nation," Mostafa Pourmohammadi, Iran's interior minister, said during Sunday's demonstration, which happens every year on Nov. 4.

The Iranian official dismissed a new set of unilateral sanctions against Iran that Washington announced recently.

"The Americans threaten once and give in ten times because they know that the Iranian nation is greater and more stable than the threats," said Pourmohammadi.

The U.S. is pushing for a new round of U.N. Security Council sanctions to force Iran to suspend uranium enrichment, which can produce fuel for a nuclear reactor or fissile material for a bomb. Two previous sets of U.N. sanctions have failed to persuade Iran to alter its behavior.

Robocop's Comment:

The anniversary they celebrate, WE hold with a grudge. If Americans have any dignity left, they better not forget who we are dealing with. Currently, Iran supplies weapons, AND soldiers that kill our soldiers in Iraq, yet we do nothing. The proof is there. They play a nuclear game, but unlike North Korea, they do it under the pretenses of a false religion which encourages the extermination of non-believers. This negates any reason for them to back down. So lets put away our tie-dyes, head bands, bongo drums, and bullshit, and save it until after our survival is assured.

Unfortunately, do to the general mentality of the American population, I think it will take a nuclear strike on one of our cities to finally flush out our heads. I hope common sense prevails first.

Saudi Marriage 'Expert' Advises Men in 'Right Way' to Beat Their Wives

Move over, Dr. Phil, there's a new relationship expert in town.

He's Saudi author and cleric, "Dr." Muhammad Al-'Arifi, who in a remarkable segment broadcast on Saudi and Kuwaiti television in September, counseled young Muslim men on how to treat their wives.

"Admonish them – once, twice, three times, four times, ten times," he advised. "If this doesn't help, refuse to share their beds."

And if that doesn't work?

"Beat them," one of his three young advisees responded.

"That's right," Al-'Arifi said.

He goes on to calmly explain to the young men that hitting their future wives in the face is a no-no.

"Beating in the face is forbidden, even when it comes to animals," he explained. "Even if you want your camel or donkey to start walking, you are not allowed to beat it in the face. If this is true for animals, it is all the more true when it comes to humans. So beatings should be light and not in the face."

His final words of wisdom?

"Woman, it has gone too far. I can't bear it anymore," he tells the men to tell their wives. "If he beats her, the beatings must be light and must not make her face ugly.

"He must beat her where it will not leave marks. He should not beat her on the hand... He should beat her in some places where it will not cause any damage. He should not beat her like he would beat an animal or a child -- slapping them right and left.

"Unfortunately, many husbands beat their wives only when they get mad, and when they start beating, it as if they are punching a wall – they beat with their hands, right and left, and sometimes use their feet. Brother, it is a human being you are beating. This is forbidden. He must not do this."

This week's "Douche Of The Week" is an individual award.



Back in July of this year, University Of Colorado Ward Churchill compared the 9/11 victims to Nazis.

Well, to make a long story short, he was fired. But get this, he is still invited to campus to teach and lecture.

STORY

Former University of Colorado professor Ward Churchill no longer is a member of the faculty but he is holding classes on campus after his dismissal following a controversial Sept. 11 essay comparing victims to a Nazi leader.

The classes, covering topics including colonialism, genocide and racism, are organized by the students who then invite Churchill to speak.

"We feel Ward has a right to say what he wants to say," Aaron Smith, a political science and ethnic studies senior, told FOXNews.com.

Smith, one of the discussions' organizers, said about 75 students usually show up but it is hard to get them to commit to assignments since they can't receive grades for them.

The discussions on campus aim to make a statement about academic freedom and free speech, Smith said.

Churchill sparked national outrage after his essay called some victims "little Eichmanns," a reference to Adolf Eichmann, who helped Adolf Hitler's plan to kill Jews during World War II.

Churchill lost his job in July after the University of Colorado governing board fired him following accusations of plagiarism, falsification and other university misconduct. His Sept. 11 essay ignited an investigation over his writings and research.

University officials responded to concerns about Churchill's writings, apologizing to America for the essay, and former New York Gov. George Pataki called Churchill a "bigoted terrorist supporter."

The University of Colorado says Churchill is allowed on campus since he is a private citizen but students cannot receive academic credit for attending the discussions.

"They are doing everything they can to make it look like Ward Churchill is teaching again at the University of Colorado," said Bronson Hilliard, a university spokesman.

The university does not recognize the discussions as courses or an official representation of the University of Colorado academic work, Hilliard said.

Churchill is receiving a year's pay under a long-held university agreement following his dismissal, Hilliard said.

Churchill did not respond for comment.

David Lane, Churchill’s attorney, said he doesn’t know if Churchill views the discussions as a return to campus, he just enjoys teaching.

"I’m sure they are going very well; he’s an excellent professor," Lane said.

Smith, who took a class with Churchill amid the debate over his research and writings, agreed.

"He pushes us to think critically about issues that are left outside of the main chronicles of history," Smith said. "He tries to have us not only look from the perspective of the dominant, but from the perspective of the oppressed."

The university also is wrapped up in a legal battle with the former professor. Churchill filed a complaint claiming the university and university regents violated his First Amendment rights to free speech.

The university filed motions in September to dismiss the complaint and Lane, Churchill's attorney, filed a response last week. The university will file reply briefs to his response soon, said Ken McConnellogue, a spokesman for the CU System. There won't be a ruling for about a month, he added.

For taking his socialists views to an all time low, and for living, Ward Churchill earns the title "Douche Of The Week."

Child Attacked Over Soldier Costume

This was brought to my attention by Texas Fred. This was originally posted in Malagent's Domain.

On my way home tonight I was drawn into an incident that has me so angry that I could not even write about it until I calmed down a bit.

In a residential neighborhood I stopped at an intersection and witnessed several children who appeared to be fighting a few yards from my vehicle. At first it did not seem real serious, however, one of the children said something that caused me to pay more attention. He said “You’re a terrorist just like your dad, I’m going to kill you just like the Iraq is gonna kill him.” It was then that I realized what was going on. A young boy, probably 10 or 11 was dressed as a US soldier, he was pinned on the ground while a group of four or five other boys where hitting and kicking him while at least two older people in costumes watched.

I left my truck in the street and got out just as one boy picked up a softball sized rock and headed towards he boy pinned on the ground. He was yelling “MURDERER” over and over. I yelled at the boy with the rock who dropped it and ran as he saw me. The others did not stop attacking the boy on the ground until I pulled them off of him. It was at this point the two older people started screaming at me. “What are you doing to my boys, leave them alone!” They were the mothers of two of the attackers. I told them I was calling the police and they all ran off.

The boy who had been attacked was crying and told me his father was serving in Iraq so he had decided to dress “like a soldier” for Halloween. He told me the attackers were his friends and that after one of the mothers start calling him and his dad a murderer his friends joined in and then attacked him.

Although he was bleeding he did not appear to be seriously injured and was very adamant that he did not want police or medical help. When I went to move my truck and call the police the boy disappeared into the neighborhood.

I’m still not sure whether I’m more disturbed by the children’s actions or the two mothers standing there watching. Were they going to let the boy be hit with a rock larger than a softball? Why did they allow the fight in the first place?

What kind of environment is required for ten year old boys to attack & threaten death over a soldier costume? I can only imagine the things they here at home and I can only imagine ho much worse these kids while be in the teens and as adults.

Had the assailants been a little older I’m afraid I would have been in jail before it was over. Given the fact they were literally children, I did nothing more then pull them away from the victim.

I really don’t give a damn what one’s position on the Iraq war or any war for that matter, but to allow this situation to happen is flat out wrong.

If the above events are true, then some people's parenting skills are in a sad state of affairs.

Possible Loophole In Jessica's Law

California Sex Offenders Declare Themselves Homeless to Get Around Jessica's Law

SACRAMENTO, Calif. —
Hundreds of California sex offenders who face tough new restrictions on where they can live are declaring themselves homeless — truthfully or not — and that's making it difficult for the state to track them.

Jessica's Law, approved by 70 percent of California voters a year ago, bars registered sex offenders from living within 2,000 feet of a school or park where children gather. That leaves few places where offenders can live legally.

Some who have had trouble finding a place to live are avoiding re-arrest by reporting — falsely, in some cases — that they are homeless.

Experts say it is hard to monitor sex offenders when they lie about their address or are living day-to-day in cheap hotels, homeless shelters or on the street. It also means they may not be getting the treatment they need.

"We could potentially be making the world more dangerous rather than less dangerous," said therapist Gerry Blasingame, past chairman of the California Coalition on Sexual Offending.

Similar laws in Iowa and Florida have driven offenders underground or onto the streets.

"They drop off the registry because they don't want to admit living in a prohibited zone," said Corwin Ritchie, executive director of the association of Iowa prosecutors.

The organization tried unsuccessfully in the past two years to persuade lawmakers to repeal the state's 2,000-foot residency restriction.

"Most legislators know in their hearts that the law is no good and a waste of time, but they're afraid of the politics of it," Ritchie said.

The problem is worsening in Florida as about 100 local ordinances add restrictions to the state's 1,000-foot rule, said Florida Corrections Department spokeswoman Gretl Plessinger. Sixteen homeless offenders are now living under a Miami bridge, while another took to sleeping on a bench outside a probation office.

"As society has imposed restrictions, it becomes almost impossible for them to find places to live," Plessinger said.

Twenty-two states have distance restrictions varying from 500 feet to 2,000 feet, according to California researchers. But most impose the offender-free zones only around schools, and several apply only to child molesters, not all sex offenders.

California's law requires parolees to live in the county of their last legal residence. But in San Francisco, for example, all homes are within 2,000 feet of a school or park.

"The state is requiring parolees to find eligible housing in San Francisco, knowing full well there isn't any," said Mike Jimenez, president of the California parole officers union. "It will be impossible for parole agents to enforce Jessica's Law in certain areas, and encouraging `transient' living arrangements just allows sex offenders to avoid it altogether."

State figures show a 27 percent increase in homelessness among California's 67,000 registered sex offenders since the law took effect in November 2006. Since August, the number of offenders with no permanent address rose by 560 to 2,622.

"This is a huge surge," said Deputy Attorney General Janet Neeley, whose office maintains the database. "Any law enforcement officer would tell you we would prefer to have offenders at addresses where we can locate them."

Offenders who declare themselves homeless must tell their parole officer each day where they spent the previous night.

Those who declare themselves homeless are still legally bound by the 2,000-foot rule; they cannot stay under a bridge near where children gather, for example. But it is more difficult for parole officers to keep tabs on them.

Parole officers said some offenders are registering as homeless, then sneaking back to homes that violate the law. That's easy to do because fewer than 30 percent of transient offenders currently wear the Global Positioning System tracking devices required by Jessica's Law.

"If they tell you that they were under the American River bridge, we're going to take that at face value," said Corrections Department spokesman Bill Sessa, referring to a homeless hangout in Sacramento.

During a recent sweep in the Oakland area, parole officers discovered that two of the five offenders they checked weren't living in the temporary shelters they had reported as their new homes. Neither had been issued a GPS device.

Department spokesman Seth Unger said parole agents are starting to make the homeless a priority in issuing the GPS ankle bracelets, which are still being phased in.

R.L., a 42-year-old sex offender who lives near Disneyland in Southern California, said he registered as homeless after his parole agent told him two potential homes were too close to schools or parks.

"I finally asked, `Where do you want me to live?' He said, `You have a car, don't you?"' said R.L., who asked that his full not be used because of the stigma surrounding sex offenders.

The law was named for 9-year-old Jessica Lunsford, who was kidnapped, raped and buried alive by a convicted sex offender near her Florida home in 2005.

The author of Jessica's Law, state Sen. George Runner, said "90 percent" of it is working well. But he conceded that some portions need to be fixed.

"When the voters voted for this, they decided that they didn't want a child molester to live across the street from a school," said Runner, a Republican from Lancaster in Los Angeles County's high desert. "If that means that in some areas that needs to be 1,000 feet or 1,500 feet, then I think that we still accomplish what it is the voters wanted."

Due to time constraints this month, there were only three candidates for October 2007's Douche Of The Month.

GEORGE W. BUSH was being a douche for this health care debate. That aside, he is alot better than those that ran against him in both elections.

was a douche for giving both cops, and legitimate gun owners a bad name. But he won't be the first, or the last cop who goes that bad.




LA RAZA and their allies are still going on about this mythical country Aztlan. They are both a danger, and a nuisance just due to the fact that there are people HERE that are dumb enough to believe them.



For being a permanent nuisance to Americans of all races (I am not even white), La Raza and their Allies steal (appropriate term) October, 2007's "Douche Of The Month".
