Fun Monday 09.15.08

This week's host for Fun Monday is Crunchy Bits.

The Rules:

Almost everyone I know keeps things that others would consider junk. Twist ties, used wrapping paper, etc. What thing or things do you hang on to, and why?
Or, if you are one of those super organized and practical people and don't hang on to things like that, do you have a collection that you would like to share with us
?

Before I post, just let me warn you all that pics are impossible, thank you Vista.
Now as for the rules, I think I fit both the pack rat, and the collector category.

Things I have that I should throw away:

>Memos and scrap paper from work,

>empty snuff cans,

Why? Memos and scrap paper: I am always afraid I might discard an important note from work. Snuff cans: No excuses.

Things I collect:

>Comic books. My favorite titles include "The Punisher", "X-Men", "Wolverine",and "Sleep Walker".

>Gun magazines and catalogs.

>Boots(mainly military type)

>Guns and knives.

>Bibles

Am I super organized? Nope. I was, once. I even had a computer inventory for both the comic books and the guns. That was two computers ago. For now on,I just wing it.

My husband has several boxes of comic books, all bagged and boarded and arranged alphabetically according to title. Now my son has a box of them, too, only not organized at all.

Your collecting, and interests sound so like my son AND husband.

Organized or not, it's still fun to collect especially the comic books....For me, those would be interesting to peruse.

Have a terrific Fun Monday. If you haven't visited my post, do drop by sometime! I love to have company you know.

It's interesting how different men's collections are to women's.

I'm not the only adult with a secret stash of comics? This is wonderful! Except mine are all girly girl comics. Disney, Gladstone, Harvey, Archie, Looney Toons, etc. I always keep my eye out for comics when ever I'm in an old book store or at yard sales. I even have ones that were published in the '40's. Love the ads in those.

I used to collect little notes...and then I would recopy them onto bigger sheets of paper. Normally, I never need those notes. But the bigger sheets of paper were less troublesome!

I've collected a lot of things over the years but never guns and knives. :-)

One of my college roommates had a gun but after I told her of a few really strange dreams I had about killing people that I knew she wisely hid the gun and would never tell me where it was. Thankfully those dreams only lasted for a few weeks and went away. Weird.

My college roommate had a gun as well. We ended up joining the college shooting club.

You sound like a combination of my step-father, my grandma, and my first high school boyfriend. I'll leave you to figure out which goes to which.

Hmn, I used to collect notes and memos but I gave in and tossed them - actually I shredded them. You can never be too careful :-)

I'm curious about the super organized change
Was it computer overload?
Or just a human melt down.

I know I've changed. Or maybe I haven't. I'm so confused (:

Let's just say the collections have outlasted the computers.

Interesting. I'm sure I still have some of those comics around. You have good collections!

I would imagine that twist ties don't do well in the microwave. :)

I could sell you my military boots but they probably will not fit you, I love comic books, have you ever heard of Tin Tin?
